Save “Lelia” from execution: a 19-year old Iranian girl who has been sexually abused most of her young life faces execution under Iran’s harsh prostitution laws.


This is how conservatives in Iran responded to a controversial exiled-Iranian broadcaster:

"The firing of a bullet into his damned and blasphemous head is an incontestable necessity, and how cherished is the emissary of that bullet," Hossein Shariatmadari, editor-in-chief of the hardline Kayhan daily, said in an editorial.

And this is not just an idle rant. They issued a fatwa calling for his death.


On going controversy over Zahara Karemi, an Iranian-born Canadian photojournalist, detained and then murdered in an Iranian jail.
